Welcoming Rhiannon Stephens as New Cluster Leader

The Center for Science and Society is delighted to welcome Rhiannon Stephens as the new leader of the Environmental Sciences and Humanities Research Cluster. An Associate Professor of History at Columbia University, Rhiannon specializes in the history of precolonial and early colonial East Africa from the late first millennium CE through the twentieth century. In 2021, the cluster’s focus is on history and climate change, with a particular focus on Africa, Latin America, Indigenous North America and South Asia.

The cluster was previously led by Shahid Naeem and Sara Tjossem and founded by Deborah Coen.
