CSS Funding Opportunities

The Center for Science and Society supports three grant-giving programs:

Seed Grants

Seed grants are awarded to innovative interdisciplinary projects involving the study of science and society that require modest amounts of seed money to initiate collaborative research, workshops, and other activities.

Applications for the 2019 Seed Grants will open in Winter 2019.

Course Development Grants

This grant supports the development of new cross-disciplinary and co-taught classes that bridge fields in the humanities, arts, and/or social sciences with fields from the natural sciences.

Proposals for the 2018-2019 Curriculum Development in Science and Society Grants are due no later than September 28, 2018. See the Call for Proposals for more information.

Public Outreach Grants

This program supports efforts to help boost public understanding, education, and response to societal concerns surrounding science, technology, or medicine.

Applications for the 2019 Seed Grants will open in Spring 2019.
