Affiliated student Michael “Mookie” Kideckel (PhD 2018) was awarded the Bancroft Dissertation Award for 2018 for his dissertation “Fresh from the factory: Breakfast cereal, natural food, and the marketing of reform, 1890-1920.”
The Bancroft Awards were established by the Trustees of Columbia University in 1963 to make possible the publication of up to two dissertations, successfully defended during the preceding year, in the areas of American history (including biography), diplomacy, or international relations.
