The Center for Science and Society is pleased to announce two funding opportunities. Both are due September 6, 2024.
Course Development Grants
Eligibility: Open to faculty, researchers, and postdocs at Columbia University. Co-applicants from outside the university can serve as course collaborators.
Amount: Up to $4,000, which can be used for course materials, collaborator fees, student activities etc.
The Center's ninth round of course development funding is open. Awards will support the creation of new classes in science and technology studies or environmental humanities. Courses must be open to undergraduate students. Learn more via the call for applications.
Co-Production of Knowledge Grants
Eligibility: Projects must be led by an incorporated community-based nonprofit in collaboration with a student, faculty, or employee at Columbia University.
Amount: Up to $10,000, which will be directly awarded to the community organization.
This new grant opportunity is looking to redistribute power and resources to counteract explorative and historically extractive research dynamics. For this funding cycle, the initiative is more interested in the process of co-producing knowledge than any resulting products. Learn more via the call for applications.
