Grant writing often requires a certain finesse. Writing a successful proposal requires effectively communicating both a project's larger vision and impact along with the minute details of the budget and timeline. It takes practice and time to hone this skill.

Thankfully, there are plenty of grant writing resources to be found, including a new one from Center for Science and Society 2023 Seed Grant recipient Madeleine Cesaretti! Madeleine shares her experience leading the Critical Cartography Project with a group of fellow Columbia University and Barnard College undergraduate students. She provides tips on finding funding, drafting the proposal, and soliciting feedback. Visit her guide for more information and apply for the Center's Environmental Humanities Grants by February 28.
