The Center for Science and Society is honored to announce that the Henry Luce Foundation will support our co-production of climate change research initiative with a $200,000 grant. The funding will help expand our current efforts to build deeply collaborative partnerships between researchers and the communities affected most by climate change. Led by Pamela Smith (Seth Low Professor of History and the Center’s Founding Director) and Ajit Subramaniam (Lamont Research Professor), the initiative goals will be accomplished by:

  • Hosting interactive knowledge- and community-building seminars
  • Sponsoring Columbia University residencies for Indigenous knowledge holders
  • Developing and sharing a set of guidelines for good practices of co-production of knowledge
  • Partnering with Indigenous groups to create community co-production principles

This project is part of the Network for Community-Driven Co-Production, which is also supported by the Columbia Climate School.
