The Center for Science and Society is thrilled to announce its first round of Community-Driven Co-Production of Knowledge Grant awardees.
Created as part of the Co-Production of Knowledge Initative (and funded by the Mellon Foundation), this grant supports projects led by a community organization with support from a Columbia University affiliate. Our 2024 recipient is Data Sovereignty for Tribally Led Adaptation: Low-Cost, Open-Source Water Level Monitoring to Empower Coastal Resilience in the Bering Sea Inuit Community of Shishmaref. Project members are:

- Nora Neiminski, Coastal Hazards Program Manager at the Alaska Department of Natural Resources
- Margaret Rudolf, Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Alaska Fairbanks
- Hailey Scofield, Climate Change Mitigation Director at Kawerak
- Casey Brayton, Graduate Student in Earth and Environmental Sciences
