Event Description

The Amazon Forest plays a pivotal role in regulating global climate patterns. With an estimated 150-200 billion tons of carbon stored in the Amazon, the deforestation of the Amazon Forest presents both a major problem and a great opportunity. A discussion on the role of the Amazon and how reforestation can be a cost-effective solution to capturing significant carbon emissions; and a policy session which will uncover innovative solutions through public policy to combat deforestation and protect the native vegetation of the Amazon Forest to reduce its tipping point.
