Valerie Segrest is dedicated to making sure tribal communities throughout North America can access traditional foods. In this talk, she discusses the many food sovereignty initiatives spearheaded by Indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest and beyond, including regaining legal control of ancestral lands, organizing harvest and berry festivals, and offering workshops on elk-processing, salmon filleting, and other traditional food preparation techniques.
