Event Description
This event centers Indigenous responses to climate change by focusing on a U.S. proposal for deep-sea mining in an area bordering the Mariana Trench Marine National Monument. It asks, how are Indigenous Pacific Islanders responding to mining exploration or potential commercialization throughout Oceania? It also examines their advocacy for climate justice at the world's highest court to their specific protection for the deepest part of the world's oceans. Listen to the stories of the heroes of the Micronesia and their collective fight for climate justice.
