Event Description:

This event will bring together philosophers, scientists, and clinicians to consider how progress in human genetics is impacting the ways both professionals and laypeople think about freedom and responsibility. While the first day will focus on the impact of behavioral genetics on traditional philosophical topics such as free will, rationality, and punishment, the second day will look at the transformation of public health practice and policy in light of new capabilities for genetic testing and prediction that can impact patients’ sense of agency.
