Event Description

This event celebrates the lives and enduring legacies of two pioneering Dominican physicians: Dr. Evangelina Rodríguez Perozo, the first woman in the Dominican Republic to graduate from medical school, and Dr. Juan Manuel Taveras Rodríguez, widely regarded as the father of modern neuroradiology.

Through the screening of the two documentaries, the program will explore their groundbreaking contributions to medicine, public health, education, and medical innovation, as well as the barriers they overcame throughout their careers. The event will also invite discussion about how their legacies can continue to inform, inspire, and create opportunities for future generations in medicine and healthcare.
