Imagine Science Film Festival (ISFF) was created in the hybridization of art and science and mixing subjects, genres, and even fact and fiction. Not surprisingly, as ISFF celebrates its Tenth Anniversary, the theme of the the Festival is “HYBRID.”  From October 13th to October  20th, the public is invited to explore transgenics, cybernetics, and interdisciplinary cross-pollination through film screenings, panels, labs, and other events that seek new recombinatory forms of the future.

October 13th, Opening Night, kicks off the festival and hosts 10 visionary Chimera Experiments, involving collaboration between scientists and filmmakers. Filmmakers will be in attendance for these 10 premieres and host an open discussion with the public. Over the course of the week, other events will take place across the city, and we encourage you to review the entire schedule.

For those interested in submitting a film to the festival: Submissions are open through August 15.

All events are free for New School students with I.D. Students must register on ISFF’s Eventbrite.

For a full schedule of films and activities, see the Imagine Science Film Festival Site and RSVP via Eventbrite. Check back in late August or early September for the festival’s Eventbrite.

Sponsored by Imagine Science Films and the Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at The New School’s Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts.
