Event Description
Nurses and midwives are on the frontlines of pandemic response worldwide, but their stories, accrued wisdom, and personal sacrifices are often ignored and unacknowledged. Frontline Nurses, a working group of the Columbia Center for Social Difference, recognizes the critical contribution of nurses and midwives and advocates for their role in forming public health policies -- a project that has become even more urgent during the international battle against COVID-19.
This event will serve to launch frontlinenurses.org, a new site offering first-person accounts of nurses and midwives from Liberia and Sierra Leone who successfully led their communities through the 2014 Ebola outbreak. Meet with, listen to, and engage with these nurses and midwives during this launch event.
