Event Description
Climate impacts are intensifying, testing development initiatives and exposing gaps in how adaptation is financed and delivered. This session examines the pressures facing developing countries, surface the core barriers to effective adaptation and resilience, and explain why many current financing approaches fall short. Panelists will make the case for a holistic model that links development goals with risk reduction and locally led solutions. They will outline what a more robust adaptation finance system should include: predictable and scaled funding, alignment of public and private capital, fit-for-context instruments, risk-informed planning, and clear metrics for impact and accountability.
