Event Description:

The School of International and Public Affairs' Entrepreneurship & Policy Initiative is hosting a special panel discussion on how city governments are fostering entrepreneurship and innovation, including case studies on economic prize competitions such as Amazon HQ2 bid and the role of cities in the establishment, development and growth of entrepreneurial ecosystems. Other topics include emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges for entrepreneurs and innovators tapping into every possible city resource to scale up their efforts.

Event Speakers:

  • Daniel Correa, Senior Advisor at the Center for American Entrepreneurship, and Co-Founder of Smart Cities Lab 
  • Euan Robertson, Director of Strategic Planning & Special Projects at Columbia Technology Ventures, and former Chief Operating Officer of the New York City Economic Development Corporation
  • Hollie Russon Gilman, Lecturer and Post-Doctoral Fellow at Columbia SIPA.
