Event Description

The last few years have seen a dramatic expansion in the role energy plays in US environmental, technological, and foreign policy on the national, state, and local levels. These shifts are coming amidst rapid and exciting science and engineering developments in fission and fusion energy: new fuel and cooling strategies are leading to the development of safer "Small Modular Reactors", giving rise to what has been called the "Nuclear Renaissance" in fission, and several private fusion companies are promising to deliver the "Holy Grail of Energy" to the grid in the next 5-10 years. Join to discuss these recent trends and the future of energy policy in the US.
