Event Description:

The duty to follow one’s patient is part of the traditional duties of physicians (to inform; to treat; and, to hold confidential). Increasing reliance on genome sequencing will reshape the contours of this duty. Will reliance on, or recourse to, genetic variant databases within a comprehensive personalized medicine ecosystem change the limits of this duty?

Event Speaker:

Professor Bartha Maria Knoppers, PhD is the Canada Research Chair in Law and Medicine.
