Art Science Make Out: Creating a Space in Between

June 24, 2017
12:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Event time is displayed in your time zone.
104 Montgomery St., Brooklyn, NY

Join a space in between for an afternoon of making simple and provocative visual or performative messages about climate change, art, science, and other things you care about and sharing ideas about how we might collaborate and why.
The first half of the afternoon will be devoted to making together, the second to learning about each other’s organizations and exploring possible common goals, needs and projects.

New York City has a great community of groups and organizations working at the intersection of art, science and society. Wouldn’t it be great if we could support each other in more symbiotic and generative ways than simply attending each others events? This was the question the “collaboration” workshop participants at the Ligo Project’s The Space in Between conference this winter met to discuss and to solve. We are now planning to launch “a space in between”, a collective environment for collaborations between/among nyc sciart groups.

This is an inaugural exploratory event to develop an active space for collaboration between groups in NY. This intial meetup will bring people together to work/play and create outreach material for unusual venues (the subway, the street, etc). It is free and open to the public, but RSVP required; please register on the website.

This event is sponsored by a space in between.
