Social media platforms enable millions of people to contribute their own information to web-enabled systems. This course prepares students to grapple with and analyze this information as they explore questions at the intersection of computational systems and social behavior. Student projects focus on studying real-world challenges and opportunities in current social media platforms by analyzing the vast amounts of data people leave behind, applying both computational and qualitative techniques.
