Must be an undergraduate or graduate student at Columbia University, including Barnard College.
Amount
$22/hour. The student administrative assistant is expected to work approximately 10 hours per week, with most shifts completed in person.
Description
The Center for Science and Society (CSS) is seeking a student administrative assistant to help with various general office responsibilities, with a particular focus on media and content generation. The assistant will provide on-site support to the center and report to the Project and Communications Coordinator. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Working with CSS staff to chart communications and publicity strategies across various platforms.
- Oversee and maintain CSS’s Instagram account and other student-focused outreach efforts.
- Generate topics, interview subjects, create content, and write feature articles for the bi-weekly CSS newsletter and website.
- Create posters/flyers for Center meetings and events via Canva.
- Assist in video editing and captioning of CSS event recordings and promotional videos.
- Perform basic clerical tasks.
- If available, assist with registration and check-in at CSS in-person events.
