Eligibility: 

Applicants are expected to have completed university studies and to have a doctorate or comparable degree, preferably in physics. Non-German-speaking post holders are expected to acquire the language skills necessary to teach in German within two years of commencing employment. 

Description:

The University of Hamburg is accepting applications for the position of Professor for Peace and Conflict Research in the Natural Sciences. The successful candidate will continue and further develop the natural-science-based peace research and its interdisciplinary integration in Hamburg and Europe. This involves conducting your own research and teaching activities at the Carl Friedrich von Weizsäcker-Centre for Science and Peace Research as well as intensively forging national and international networks. Willingness to cooperate and interact with research groups at the university, the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy, the general public, and policymakers is also expected. Teaching duties include lectures, practical courses, pro-seminars and seminars, and supervising final theses.
