Job Opportunity: Open Rank Professorship in the Environmental History of the Mediterranean, Haifa University

Eligibility: 

Applicants must have a Ph.D. and a demonstrable commitment to both teaching and research. Candidates should have an extensive background in Mediterranean studies, a fully-developed Mediterraneanist approach guiding their research, and proven interest in environmental issues in the history of the Mediterranean.

Description:

The Haifa Center for Mediterranean History (HCMH) and the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Haifa, Israel, invite applications for a tenure track position in Mediterranean history (prehistory to 1800). HCMH promotes the historical study of the pre-modern Mediterranean in Haifa, and aims to connect it to the vibrant international networks of Mediterranean research. HCMH encourages cross-disciplinary collaboration on Mediterranean themes within the University of Haifa and outside it. 

The successful candidate will be expected to teach four courses per year (undergraduate, graduate), supervise theses, and carry usual nonteaching duties.
