Job Opportunity: Making and Knowing Project Manager

July 20, 2015

Eligibility:

Advanced-level reading and writing in French is required; conversational fluency in French is an asset.

Description:

The Making and Knowing Project, a Research and Teaching Initiative of The Center for Science and Society, seeks a part-time Project Manager who will work with the staff of the Making and Knowing Project to ensure the cohesion and consistency of a collaboratively produced digital edition of a sixteenth-century French manuscript. The Project Manager will help the Director of the Making and Knowing project administer the project and serve as the liaison between the various research and editorial activities of the project participants.  Tasks will include helping to manage Making and Knowing activities, such as the logistics and planning of a three-week summer paleography workshop, the annual working group meetings, and events throughout the year.  The successful applicant will also track correspondence between the Project Directors, Advisory Team, and Working Groups, and manage digital output from the laboratory seminars, and other researchers, so translations and annotations can be edited by the Project Directors in an organized and timely fashion. The Project Manager will also assist in editing and proofreading the digitized version of the manuscript, as well as research outputs from the Making and Knowing laboratory.
