Description
The Smith Center for the History of Cartography at the Newberry Library currently seeks a director to promote the use of the Newberry’s world-class collection of over 600,000 historic maps. This is a multifaceted position that blends academic research and public-facing humanities work. The director will work closely with Newberry colleagues to foster new research, build and sustain scholarly collaborations, design programs for educators at all levels, coordinate public programs around maps and mapping, and provide leadership on map digitization projects.
