Job Opportunity: Assistant Professor in Environmental Sociology, University of British Columbia, Okanagan

Eligibility:

We are seeking candidates with scholarly interest and expertise in environmental sociology, with an additional program of active research in food, food security and/or climate change. Candidates must have a PhD in Sociology, a strong record of research productivity, and proven ability to attract external funding. They must also demonstrate a commitment to student mentoring and supervision; an established record of excellence in undergraduate teaching and learning; and evidence of, or interest in, effective graduate teaching appropriate to career stage. They are also expected to show evidence of commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of a respectful, collegial, and conducive learning and working environment.

Description:

The Irving K. Barber School of Arts and Sciences (IKBSAS) at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan campus, invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in Environmental Sociology, with specialization in Food, Food Security, and/or Climate Change at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position will be held in the Department of History and Sociology and is expected to start on July 1, 2019.
