The Anthropocene is one of the key concepts of the 21st century. In recognizing the dramatic scale of the impact of human activity on the global environment, it subverts the distinction between human and natural history. The concept of the Anthropocene has attracted attention from a wide range of disciplines. This course addresses the theme from a historical point of view, specifically that of modern history.
Graduate students of any discipline are welcome to apply for enrollment in this course.
