Eligibility
Applicants must be current Columbia University undergraduate or graduate students.
Applicants for the technical position should have 2+ years of experience developing with Unity, game development, and Amazon Web Services.
Applicants for the digital art position should have 1+ years creating 2D digital assets and proficiency with graphics software.
Amount
The positions earn $15/hour at 20 hours a week for 8 weeks. The exact work days and times are flexible.
Description
This project will bring together a multidisciplinary team of students to develop a citizen science mobile game that:
- Raises public understanding of the global drivers and local impacts of biodiversity loss in Southeast Asia’s tropical forests
- Facilitates crowd-sourced processing of wildlife monitoring data by non-experts
- Ultimately, provides local communities and conservation practitioners with accessible data analysis tools for forest management.
