Call for Applications: Assistant Professor in Asian Environmental Studies, Vanderbilt University

Eligibility: 

All applicants should be conversant with the regional vernacular and international scholarship in their field. Candidates must have completed all requirements for the PhD by the start of the Fall 2020 semester, possess a clear research trajectory, and demonstrate a dedication to teaching. 

Description: 

The Asian Studies Program at Vanderbilt University is accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Asian Environmental Studies to begin in the Fall 2020 semester. Regional specialization is open to any area(s) of East, South, and Southeast Asia. Academic training may come from any discipline(s) in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Scholars whose work engages pressing problems and embraces wider regional perspectives within Asia and/or includes a global comparative dimension are desirable. This appointment will be key to the Global Asia Initiative within the Asian Studies Program and will join broader multidisciplinary and trans-institutional collaborations at Vanderbilt designed to address global environmental issues.
