Eligibility

Open to students, postdocs, and other early-career trainees.

Description

The conference on Curiosity, Creativity and Complexity will be held at Columbia University on May, 23-25, 2023. How does the brain cope with Complexity? How do we make decisions when confronted with practically infinite streams of information? The conference aims to catalyze interdisciplinary discussion across science, artificial intelligence, and economics to address these questions.

The conference invites poster presentations of scientific work relevant to any of the conference topics.

Additionally, a limited number of travel awards are available to support the participation of students and other trainees who present a poster and travel from outside of the New York City area.

Travel awards are supported by the Center for Science and Society at Columbia University. As part of their efforts to build an academic space that is more just, equitable, and accessible, reviewers will strive to prioritize applicants from historically underrepresented groups and research institutions.

Up to $1,500 will be available to support travel, hotel, and other expenses.
