Applications are now online for Inequality by the Numbers: an inter-disciplinary workshop on inequality research. It will be held June 6-10, 2016, and is hosted by the CUNY Graduate Center and the Luxembourg Income Study Center.
The application deadline is April 18; application forms can be found here. However, late applications will be considered if there are unfilled seats. In order to make the workshop more useful to a broader audience – including journalists and staff from foundations, nonprofit organizations, and social action groups – we have designed the workshop in two parts:
Part 1. Monday and Tuesday (June 6-7) / capacity 120 attendees
Lectures will be intended for a broad audience, including journalists and staff from foundations, nonprofit organizations, and social action groups – in addition to PhD students and early-career scholars.
Part 2. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (June 8-10) / capacity 50 attendees
Lectures will be targeted on PhD students and early-career scholars working in a range of social science disciplines, especially economics, sociology, and political science. These lectures will be more technical than those in Part 1, and applicants should be comfortable
with presentations and readings that rely on quantitative research/analytic methods.
Our expectation is that PhD students and other academics will prefer to apply for Parts 1 and 2, but they are welcome to apply for only Part 1.
